Thank YOU for bringing Stuart Davis to Luther

Thank YOU for bringing Stuart Davis to Luther

I've been asking around campus, seeking out what people think of
Stuart Davis and his upcoming concert in Marty's this Saturday
night at 8:30 p.

m. Surprisingly, the response has not been very
diverse.
Every person I've talked to, and I've talked to many, has taken
credit on some level for Stu's upcoming appearance. What is it
about this Minnesota-born
singer/songwriter/musical mystic that has everyone
taking credit for his arrival?
It could be that Stu's music transcends genres and the
usual boundaries that musicians encounter.

Davis brings an energy
and humor to his music and the stage that pushes the
borders of typical thought while musically combining the ordinary
with the extraordinary.
In his music, Stu sings about important
things like narcolepsy, Barbie dolls, lusting after friends, sex
and the humorously bitter thought that
love is a punch in the throat.
But don't be fooled; amidst the humor and funny puns, you'll
also find songs about God, spirituality, racism, suicide,
commercialism and love. Stu explores all sides of human
nature-often in the same
song.

Stu has explored different styles in his
music while at the same time
maintaining high quality.
This is reflected not only in Stu's studio albums but in his
live shows as well. Fans are treated to stories and musings that
can only be described as "Stuart-esque," guaranteed to leave a
smile on your face and maybe even a nugget of wisdom about the
mysteries of life.
Returning for the first time since 1998, Stu offers this
incentive: "Why should people come to my show? 1.

We all need love.
There will be lots of love in my show. 2. People enjoy sex.

There's
lots of sex in my show. 3. We are all going to die. My
music provides helpful information
on how to navigate reality before, during and after death.

To
review: love, sex, death. Three universals in one show."
If you have ever experienced love, have had or hope to have sex,
or plan on eventually dying one day, this is a show you won't want
to miss. Sponsored by SAC Spotlight, Stuart Davis will be taking
the stage Feb.

16. Tickets are $7 and FREE with CAF. Oh, and just
so you know, I'm the
reason Stuart Davis is
performing here this weekend.
