Dozens of Criminal Alien Child Predators Captured in New York City

By Jim Kouri
(AXcess News) New York - Federal agents and New York City
probation officers arrested 47 criminal alien sex offenders in
Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Manhattan as part of the Department
of Homeland Security's "Operation Predator.

" Thirty-six of those
arrested were in the country illegally, according to officials at
US Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
The immigrants arrested are foreign born who've been convicted
sex offenders guilty of rape, sodomy, assault with intent to cause

society, our

Enforcement.

"Predators commit unspeakable acts that often do irreparable
harm and rob the innocent of their innocence. Left on the streets
predators can victimize communities time and time again. Today, we
stopped these predators in their tracks, and the public safety of
New York City is better off for it."
The New York operation is part of an ongoing effort to make
sure that the city remains the
safest big city in America, according to officials with NYC
Department of Probabtion.

Probation officers say they look
forward to working with ICE on future operations especially with
foreign nationals who commit sex crimes. Several of those
arrested include foreign nationals convicted of heinous child
sex crimes who remained on the streets on probation.

Thirty-six of the aliens were in the country illegally and
fourteen were legal permanent residents. All predators have been
placed into removal proceedings and transported to various
detention facilities. Those predators already with final orders of
removal will be deported from the country shortly and the remaining
predators will have their cases heard before an immigration
judge.

ICE's Operation Predator protects children by investigating and
presenting for prosecution pedophiles, Internet predators, human
traffickers,
international sex tourists and
other predatory criminals. Since Operation Predator was launched
on July 9, 2003, ICE agents have arrested nearly 6,500 child
predators and sex offenders nationwide and removed more than
3,100 criminal alien predators.
